I wonder if ur characters have to breathe underwater or if they're like mermaid type-beat
that depends on what animal they are ! most of them are fish, meaning they dont have lungs TO breathe air so they do in fact breathe underwater, but heartbeat for example is a sea lion so they can breathe both underwater and above it
