For characters like Toothy, you can also ask why specific aspects of their design are how they are (like her fangs or cheeks) because they actually have in-depth explanations. Just a warning, most of the characters in my sides (aside from Cosmo Toka and Demi Francis/Saul) DON'T have lore or even personalities. Ok so basically!! Toothy is a teenage girl who was kidnapped by a corrupt beauty company and was used for various experiments of hazardous commercial beauty products. These include eye and nose removal products and fang growth products that caused great fur loss, and at a greater expense, her sanity. She, with other escapees, eventually managed to escape the lab she was being held in, but can obviously not fit into society in the same way.

yes! Her closest friends are Lucy (Lucifer) and Dell. She has some sort of delusional, one-sided, obsessive crush on Dell, resulting from their shared trauma (romantic feelings can often stem from a terrible shared experience). Though these two are who she likes the most, she is also friends with Palm, Shix, Cole, Candy, and Lampaca. She often wears an eye mask or taped-on sunglasses in public to hide her lack of eyes and passes off as blind. Despite being mostly blind, her extreme sensory awareness and advanced tech in her brain artificially recreates a new sense for her in order to get around. Sort of like vision but centralized only in the brain and not in the eyes. Not echolocation though.
