I’m writing his backstory. Entry 1: Travis Waking up in the morning isn’t something I look forward to. The screaming and constant arguing. The “I’m gonna kill you” and the profanity. Shattered glass serves as my alarm clock, and the thundering steps tell me I need to be ready to kill the first thing that threatens me. But don’t take it for granted. That’s how I’ve gotten where I am. I can kill with no emotion. I don’t do it, not always. But I will.
