TRACE!!! TRACE DO IT it’s SO HELPFUL trace just don’t post it yk?? Tracing has its benefits in helping you learn anatomy, faces, etc. once you start tracing and getting the hang of it then you can move into referencing. But it does really depend on what style YOU want.
Also, please please don’t stress yourself on trying to make your style look like someone else’s to the T. Speaking from experience it just stressed me out and made it harder to improve and it made me go through horrible burnouts. Try to take elements from that persons style, elements you like. Also, watch tutorials, speedpaints, and walkthrough videos. I promise it helps. -

LinkPractice, I know you may want your work to look perfect now but practice makes perfect. Try something everyday, or at least try to. That’s how I improve so quickly, but it’s different for everyone. You’ll get there eventually just run your own race
