usagis actually not a glutton they literalky shared food since episode 1 when they rubbed the pudding sauce on chiikawa so they could have some too usagi literally always shares food besides the author of chiikawa gives the character traits based on their real life counterpart and usagi has a high metabolism so he eats more usagi is not just a carefree glutton he secretly cares about chiikawa n hachiware

usagi is willingly homeless and has alot of tabs in his travel journal and he only comes back for hachiware n chiikawa thats why they can never find him also in the nightmare elephant arc usagi helped chiikawa bc he was secretly worried ab them but acted like he didnt

he tries to act tuff he literally just bit his lip and kicked his feet when the huge pelican chimera grabbed his ears the most painful part a rabbit can be held by btw

in the nightmare where he gets chimera arms he backs off from scared chiikawa bc he doesnt want to hurt them and cries which he only does one other time in the series when he burns his tongue on molten hot cheese

also he never acted inherently mean to momonga he only mocked them even though they bullied chiikawa until they cried all the time

he even put curry in the magic forest rice cooker while momonga is eating and seems to not mind that tney would be eating too even though they were a bully

also canonically he can sense when creatures are mimics or chimeras so he tried to protect chiikawa from kabutomushi by throwing it but chiikawa etill got attached even though he can tell momonga isnt truly a cute creature he still treats them well and doesnt even care when they yell at him
