This is why Ray always wears a mask over his eyes. If he gets upset (mainly mad), his eyes go red and anyone that looks at them will turn to stone fully. This kind of relates to what is happening at the moment, with Ray's tears. The reason why I chose to make this was mainly because of my Great-Grandma passing away.
