Zion was propped up on a horse drawn wagon, watching people pass by. He was dressed in not great clothing, but it wasn't peasants clothing either. He watched people pass by and ignored the disgusted looks he got. He was a rather large man with orangish-pink skin and dark maroon hair. His arms were also coated with the same thick hair and his eyes were bright red. He had two large teeth poking out from his mouth. This was about the time before he had most of his power drained from him.
-Ieva and Sterlyn had left their home city, which was basically a place where adventurers met. Ieva ruled it, but let Sir Simps a Lot take command for a little bit. Their city was unique in a way that there were many, many different races that took it home, and the fact that it was divided in three rings. Both of them needed a travelling break to have some fun, so they left to adventure. Ieva was just walking next to Sterlyn, a somewhat dark aura around her as she could not stand broad daylight without magic-
-Sterlyn glanced over, her dark-colored assassin garments covering most of her features, but her large wings could still be visible-
-Ieva tugged on Sterlyn's arm- "Cmon, you know we don't mess in this type of stuff unless it directly affects us. Let's just find something powerful to fight with loot" -She had a hint of a smile on her face as she imagined having a bit of excitement fighting a dragon or a lich-
-Sterlyn glanced over again before turning back to Ieva- "It's just a bit weird- pretty sure whatever that weirdo is isn't a tiefling, but a demon. Then again I honestly don't care about getting attacked at all by anything"
-Ieva rolled her eyes, chuckling. She was slightly unnerved by the demon- as a vampire sorceress she never liked to be in the middle of things, but she felt better with Sterlyn around.- "I mean, you literally had to face an avatar of death once because of that deck of cursed stupid many things. At least you also got a dexterity boost"
-Sterlyn sighed, frowning slightly as she remembered the fight- "I am hella lucky that I went first and critted it- it's armor class was insane. NOTHING has an armor class of 20 naturally"
-Ieva glanced over at the boy who was going insane before turning back to Sterlyn- "And this is why you don't dump wisdom and intelligence saving throws. At least make it so you have a chance of living"
-Sterlyn sighed, a bit annoyed by Ieva mothering over her but just let it happen. She felt slightly bad for the kid but overall didn't really care about anything as long as it didn't affect her or her animals- which was an odd thing for her to have but she loved adopting random baby animals.- "I have proficiency in those, even though I may be stupid I can live through stuff like this- and it helps against mindflayers, too"
Ieva continued to walk towards around the center of town, trying to find the bulletin board for adventurers, and attempting to ignore the scene that was unfolding behind them. "We don't have any way to heal ourselves with magic but-"
Sterlyn coughed quietly as if signaling something to Ieva before opening her bag of holding and pulling out a few healing potions before dropping them back in. "Remember how I made thousands and thousands of gold from loot? Healing potions are only 50 gold pieces each, so I got myself enough to take most of anything, though you are the spellcaster so you have to cast invisibility on both of us so we can do this type of nonsense"
Ieva scoured the bulletin board before pulling off one of the sheets and showing it to Sterlyn happily. "Dragon's lair, and only an adult drag-"
Sterlyn interrupted Ieva with a strained expression on her face. "Its a red dragon. Those things are powerful- and I absolutely despise their breath weapons. You better have those disintegrate and power word kill spells ready- and oh for the love of god use your wish if any of us get in to trouble"
-Sterlyn grumbled something under her breath that sounded like 'ew' as she heard the bones cracking.-
-Ieva gently whacked Sterlyn with a stern expression on her face that was trying to hide a smile- "Come on, we are not getting in to trouble before we fight that dragon- it's already painful to fight those red beasts while being fully healthy- or whatever you call it for undead creatures."
-Sterlyn glanced at Ieva for a second- "This smells like a bloody dungeon now- I hate demons for this reason. So much different than tieflings, and while powerful, need to learn common sense. You don't attack in front of someone- hell if I was the lawful stupid guy I'd have gone and divine smited him into hell"
Ieva smiled a little bit, showing her fangs as normal. "I understand- though calling them lawful stupid is a little bit of a stereotype. Though they are stupid, shouting divine smite all the time and all refusing to help their party. And oh- you know your tiefling friend? She's on an adventure right now and I gotta say, I wish I had booming blade as a cantrip"
Eventually he finished off with both legs and stared down at the woman. He grumbled softly at the fact that he was no longer hungry but still had half of an earth dweller just sitting here to rot. He wiped his mouth with his hand and licked the rest of the blood off, as well as making sure there was none on his clothing. He got up and left the rest of TH body to rot, strolling out.
-In all honesty, Ieva and Sterlyn did not look too strong. Sterlyn's weakest stat was strength, actually, and so was Ieva's. It would look very odd with two weak-looking individuals who were talking crap about demons and monsters just waltzing into the woods all alone, them not wearing any armor stronger than leather, and in the direction of a powerful dragon's cave. It looked like absolute suicide- what they were doing- but they did look very rich, though.-
-After a bit of walking both of them realized something-
Sterlyn sighed, facepalming herself. "I forgot I had wings- I've been in those caves and dungeons for so long where flying was useless"
-Ieva let her two, semi-magical draconic sorceress wings burst from her back- "So did I- how do I forget? Flying would be a nice way to travel faster than the woods- though we better land a distance from the cave unless we want to get noticed and fried- though I suppose it wouldn't matter to you and your inhuman dexterity"
-Sterlyn snorted- "I don't know if you haven't noticed but I don't think I'm a human"
-The two took to the air, Ieva spending a moment to caste haste on both of them as otherwise it was difficult to fly extremely fast. They both headed in the direction of the very ominous mountain lair.-
-Ieva sighed, remembering something else- "That dragon better not have a lava volcano as a lair cause that would suck- though I expect not to as they want their kobold servants to not get fried"
-Sterlyn sighed, ruffling through her bag to pull out a potion and chug it- "I mean, I like the cold better. I'm still in the middle of Icewind Dale right now- like you teleport me back there every so often. I need to learn to care about my party members less and let them get eaten by the monsters- I've almost died TWICE now"
-Ieva chuckled quietly at Sterlyn- "Told you that it's better being somewhat of a lone wolf, but at least you are friends with that barbarian, who also loves animals. How come you adopt a baby goat and become friends with the barbarian but have not stolen from them yet? Then again you'd get murdered because you don't even have your assassinate bonus there"
-Sterlyn immediately noticed the noise, her head jerking in his direction as she reflexively drew her magical shortbow- she always had it with her, as she was very used to getting ambushed-
Hm? -Ieva turned, using the staff in her hand to pull herself up to get a better look at what Sterlyn was staring at, honestly wondering if Sterlyn just overreacted to a squirrel-
Sterlyn slung the shortbow over her back to pull out her rapier- a magical thin sword that she very much knew how to use. "I'm thinking that fireballing the tree would attract unwanted attention- I'm going to check then we better get to that cave. I got arrows of pretty much any major monster slaying imaginable after that bad run-in with a white dragon" *She beat her wings heavily to try and take off to get a better look. She was not in the mood to try and climb a tree as she was trying to preserve that strength to be able to run away if she had to from the red dragon-
-Sterlyn stared at the tree- "I have a horrible feeling that we are being stalked- which we are- so lets just get into that cave and finish that dragon off before whatever the hell is here fights us. I'd rather not waste another potion of long rest-" *She flew down to start to walk to the cave* "And remember- invisibility and stealth"
-Ieva sighed- "I've lived longer than you- you bet that I know more than you" *She rolled her eyes to herself, a bit exasperated at Sterlyn's cautiousness but it was how Sterlyn lived to this age*
-Sterlyn had now pulled on a black assassin's cloak, taking a deep breath as she mentally prepared herself to go into an adult red dragon's cave. She had to get in as far as possible before Ieva went blazing in with a pure distraction. She slipped into the cave quietly, quickly becoming extremely difficult to spot as she had years of practice in stealth-
-Ieva cast invisibility on Sterlyn, making her invisible unless she purposely made a loud noise or drew a weapon. She gave Sterlyn five minutes to get in as far as possible before she would run in, magic blazing and wild-
Oh yea theres 4 types of dragons:
Wyrmling, Young, Adult, and Ancient
So in this scale they are facing an adult red dragon, though they wouldn't face an ancient one by themselves unless they had a fighter/paladin on their side along with a cleric))
-Sterlyn quickly made her way through the cave but slowed when she got deep inside it, seeing what the massive red dragon was resting on. Piles and piles of gold and jewels. Sterlyn had to make a conscious effort to suppress her greed to move away from the gold to hide inside a crevice in the wall, awaiting Ieva.-
-Ieva took a deep breath and pulled a pearl of power from her pocket and fastened it around her neck. While Sterlyn was entering the dragon's lair, she would distract literally everyone by yelling and charging in, which is exactly what she did. She drew the attention of many different kobolds, who spent a moment to stare at the half-dragon lady running in before they got fireballed and thunderstepped into oblivion by Ieva.-
-Sterlyn was waiting, an arrow of red dragon slaying nocked in her bow as she watched the red dragon turn to the entrance of it's cave, waiting to see what the hell was going on and to incinerate the intruder-
-Ieva was draining herself slowly as she took wounds from a few of the kobolds that spotted her before she could blow them up and even though she had natural regeneration, she was suffering a little bit. She had to stop, cursing to herself, to drain the blood of one surviving kobold before she continued, blood-covered and exhausted. She prayed that Sterlyn had not been caught yet-
brb parents want me to clean the table
Also a bit of info: A red dragon's health in D&D is 256 and its CR is 17 (Challenge rating)
Sterlyn and Ieva are level 20. They both are like glass cannons, they can do heck ton of damage but are not as tanky, but they are not the most glass-cannony out of all the classes. They are somewhere in the middle)
