First of all, there is no such thing as transgender. There are males pretending to be females and females pretending to be male. But unless they've figured out how to change that X chromosome toa Y, or vice-versa, they are not changing genders. IMO, these people are profoundly disturbed and I'm sure most of them lead tortured lives. So if pretending to be a member of the opposite sex makes them feel better, more power to them. But when a man pretending to be a woman demands to use the same restroom or locker room as little girls, he is infringing on their rights, and that's where line must be drawn.
