pretty much in health, they're like, "you choose to be happy or sad." and i'm like "does it look like i ****ing chose to have depression?!

they don't know shit about mental health they'd probably say shit like "if you're anorexic then just start eating" or "if you have anxiety stop worrying" or "if you have ptsd move on" Thanks karen I'm cured.

You have to be diagnosed with depression, it's a mental illness so self diagnosis doesn't mean you have it. You could be 'depressed' but 'depression' is a mental illness you have to be diagnosed with
