Okay! Here we go! SoOOOO when making and OC it's good to have outside inspiring sources, like youtubers, or webtoon artists. Find a genre of characters, like, let's say, furries(shivers), humans, hybrids, gods, marysues(no pls), etc. After that colour schemes are important, before you do anything with the main design try different figures, or side ideas until you find a final! And ALWAYS test lot's of different colours first! The characters design should reflect the way they act or feel, like if they are a jumpy, happy, creative OC, give them light bouncy clothes, crop-tops, ripped up jeans, short hair with dyed colours. If they are laid back maybe a plain ol' hoodie, or sweatpants, with calming colours. After that for names I usually think of things I like, objects, or if I'm out of name ideas I would take words from their looks or personality. For instance say your character is lazy, well let's go to google translate and find out what lazy is in different languages, those could all be possible names!
