Linkpeople use them for obvious jokes which just makes them less funny and than don't use them for ambiguous things

Linkalso they are really confusing like /s could mean serious, silly, and I didn't know it meant satire same with /gen it looks like it could mean general instead i just think we should put our meaning in parenthesis its better and gives actual context

Linkin case the hoard finds this post I don't hate that they exist i just hate that they are misused and the abreviations are confusing
i think tone tags can be nice to use if used right, alot of the time though they're not used right.
like people will be like
"I hate you /SRS (/j)" and like, at that point don't use the tone tags.
when I make jokes or want something to be taken seriously I don't use /j or /SRS very often
most of the time I use my own things like "KYS!! (silly)"
or "Im gonna cry, I'm so upset right now" and then in the next comment I put under it I say (serious)
I think the only difference between out opinions is I want people to use tone tags!! I may see that the joke is obvious but not everyone will! I just don't like misuse of tone tags
"I hate you /SRS" when it was a joke and then get upset that the person took them seriously
