LinkDisclaimer! You don't have to follow my advice at all, these are just some tips!
So, here are some dos and don'ts when it comes to trading OCs/designs/characters. These should help so you don't make anyone upset or angry, including yourself.

1. Screenshot trades, especially if you plan on deleting an anim with the trade. You may need proof of a trade at some point, so screenshotting trades is a good idea.
2. Save refs of the designs you trade for, chances are the anim of your new oc could end up deleted.
3. Wait some time before trading new ocs, get used to the idea of having them before trading them off. (unless it's an adopt lol)
4. Make unique adopts, if you repeat the same patterns and animals a lot try switching things up.

LinkDon'ts:
1. Don't impulse trade, take time to think if you actually want the design you're trading for.
2. Please don't use people's designs as trade fodder. My designs have been used as fodder, I've been traded fodder, I've seen it happen a lot with popular designer's stuff too. (like wink-wink,,) This can upset the original creators if it happens often. (I don't mind a lot but it can be kind of annoying).
3. Last, don't trade for something and then ask for it back later, don't care how much later it is, as soon as you trade, it's FINAL. Doesn't matter if it was free or for a custom or whatever. This one pisses me off especially so just don't give away OCs if you want to keep them.
PLEASE follow 2 of the donts. everyone. i traded someone 4 ocs before and all of them were off to new people within like a week i think
it makes people lose trust in you when you do it and for this person specifically they can't get designs or characters directly from me anymore and im trying to figure out a way to discourage people giving them my designs in general without making like,, a callout post
if you're not going to use, respect and love a character, don't take it from someone who can and will
what pisses me off the most is when someones like "please i want my oc back they mean so much to me :'(" and then you give them back and they trade it right after or they just. never look at them again
always keep track of who you give away too, ive lost multiple ocs bc the person I tradeded with traded off a design that I already owed
