Take Shou Tucker and Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist(SPOILERS FOR LITERALY EVERY VERSION OF FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST EVER). After Tucker fused his daughter Nina and her dog Alexander into a chimera, Edward starts giving him a beatdown. During the beatdown, Tucker said, quote, "You and I, Edward, we're the same! Look at your arm and leg, you're brother! We're the same, we both did what we had to do, even though we knew it was wrong!"

Ed and Al tried to bring back their mom, but they failed, Ed lost an arm and leg while Al lost his entire body and was bonded to a large suit of armor, Shou Tucker only did his human transmutation to further his own alchemic career and stay a state alchemist. They both may have done the same terrible thing, but their motives were comepletely different.
