It's canon to an extent. Obviously the main ship is kaede and shuichi, but it's canon Kokichi's gay, or at least bi.

b r u h I don't ship saiouma because 'oH hAhA gRaPe MaN hArRaSsEs HiM' I ship it because 1. I enjoy the freetime events in Dangan Salmon Team. It gives you more insight on him as a character. I get that the whole hotel thing aims towards Kaede, but it's still interesting. 2. Kokichi (in my headcanon) is just lost. He is looking for someone to lead him. 3. I personally ship pregame saiouma most. I don't believe that ouma was some 'uwu soft boy x3' I believe he was calm, collected, and intelligent. Along with Shuichi. 4. Kokichi is a idiot.

I am aware Saimatsu is the canon ship. Do you get mad when people ship any non-canon ship? You do realize the point of a ship is to say "oh, they'd make a cute couple." It's not a rule where people have to ship canonly. It's up to the fan.
