Ok, well first off, don't be afraid to practise advanced stuff like hands, gesture, etc. Secondly, you don't have to draw everyday or very frequently to get better (perfect practice not practise till perfect), instead try setting out a few days in the week to improve one area at a time, eg Monday-gesture, Wednesday-foreshortening, Friday-Hands...

Third of all, don't beat yourself up over your art and how it's not as good as that one Japanese kid in class that can render a full bust in 10 minutes. Most artists like that are very good at concealing their many, many attempts and mistakes and showing most of their successes. You don't know how much time Aiko (the Jappy boi) spent into drawing portraits so you just assume he's talented.

Finally, don't be afraid to use references. You might think that using refs is cheating but it's not, most artists use references because nobody knows every name of every muscle in the human body and how they look, how every detail of a certain car should look like, how theoretical machinery would look like (I mean unless they're clairvoyants then they're a bunch of ****bois) etc.
