It looked directly at him with it’s countless eyes, and with it’s mouthless well of voices said only three words. “I see you.” The words rang through Caiden’s skull, and before he could wake up, one of the hooded figures slashed his left eye with a a jagged blade. He woke that night screaming louder than anyone ever thought possible. His eye, though it soon healed and seemed mostly unharmed in reality, was never the same. Now, he could see monsters like the one from the nightmare everywhere; some of them even taking the places of people. Soon, he felt that staying in Quin would just make it all worse, and decided to just leave. Now, nine years after doing so, he diligently researches and studies cults that worship monsters like the one he saw; trying to find out how to close them off from our world. The visions still haunt him, taunting him every day, but he persists. Though if he continues, I fear he may unearth something that truly deserved to stay buried.
