this private psych ward is actually a government approved illegal testing laboratories. instead of rando anomalies, it's people who have/gained abnormal features either natural or due to being tested on. they test their ability to fight, defend, and kill as they plan on using them for fighting reasons i guess? they make them fight each other or normal people (criminals, usually). all people taken away are just registered as missing persons who will never be found unless one escapes. successful escapes have never happened as they are murdered quickly due to medication that suppresses their full potential.
