We want to make you aware that our district received information earlier today relating to a viral threat containing school shooting threats. Since then, more messages have begun circulating across social media platforms from various schools throughout the district. TPD is actively investigating the threats and although we have confirmed that the threats are unsubstantiated, we are taking all precautionary measures to ensure your students and school staff are safe to return to school tomorrow. There has been a significant increase in the number of “Swatting” threats directed towards school communities. Please discuss with your child the importance of reporting any threatening behavior against any other student or individual. It’s equally important to discuss the consequences of fabricating an emergency and alerting a law enforcement agency to false police reports. We are grateful for your cooperation and partnership in keeping our schools safe
