Well as interesting as that is Darby is a full time college student and the only time they go out is to the convenience store to get more ramen 💀
Salvo stormed into the store, his face hidden by his maroon hood, reaching for the gun within his belt, glaring around, his gold rimmed glasses catching the light.
Darby was the kind of person who enjoyed simple things…like walking across the street and grabbing her favorite ramen and some canned tea. But he would NOT tolerate anyone ruining their nightly ritual. They walked up to the line for checkout and noticed the stranger, tilting her head in curiosity. He clutched the tea rather closely to their chest and bit their lip…something was wrong
he looked around the store, which was busy, a smile touching his lips. He wrapped his hand around the gun, getting ready. He scanned the area for anyone watching, then made eye contact with them. he froze.
Their wings fluttered as they glanced at the gun, grabbing the person in front of him and lifting them up and behind the shelf to protect them and their child before yelling out loud enough for the rest of the store to hear “The man in the crimson hood has a gun!!” And their voice rang through peoples ears causing them to panic and duck for cover
The man pulled the gun out rapidly, cocking it, running forward, shooting the cashiers with one hand, the other hand holding the hood so it cast a shade over his face. He aimed the gun next at them, livid.
Haha unluckily for him..her father and mother we’re first responders. His father..a police officer..and their mother..a firefighter. They’d gotten them some lessons when she was young so he new how to deal with firearms. They had to protect the people behind them first, spreading their wings which covered the entire isle, and turning their head telling them to go hide in a different isle…and cuz their wings are so big the shooter wouldn’t tell which way they went
He aimed the gun at them and pulled the trigger, but, he needed to reload. he huffed, frustrated, reloading the gun
They ducked and jumped at them using their shoulder to tackle him with more force, and their elbow to punch their throat. This way of tackling ensued that even someone much bigger than you would be on the ground. They kicked away his gun
he gasped, falling back, startled, his hood falling off his face, his hot ember eyes staring up at them, his glasses crooked. He scowled.
I want him so bad…
Darby held his hands over his head and had a knee on his chest,,,so he’d definitely have a struggle escaping. They carefully searched his body for more weapons

He had a pocket knife in his pocket (wOa), and a dagger in his boot, and in the inside pocket of his cloak, a couple of throwing stars. He struggled, gritting his teeth.

Darby let their guard down as soon as they thought they collected all the weapons,.after all the police were on their way..maybe she’d get lucky and her father would be the officer who’d come over

Darby only held him down with more strength “Oh stop your whining!”

Darby grabbed his cheeks, like..shutting him up. She huffed and looked down at him disgusted- “Shut up before I knock your lights out..”

Darby was rather annoyed..what was taking them so long..? She started to worry

Darby scoffed they had this…look in their eyes just,,unsettling “Then I’ll have to break those damn twig leds of yours”

Darby’s wings fluttered, they seemed to be getting excited “And if I break those?”

Darby spoke..rather coldly “How about I just kill ya?~”
Probably. Lets just say hes been hiding the fact that he has three siblings and his cousin from her, and if hes asked about his family, he just says they are dead.
"Then you'll be a criminal." he smiled.
She wouldn’t stop trusting him, after all she does the same thing..she killed her two youngest siblings afterall
Darby was intrigued..whispering “What makes you think…that after all this..I won’t get off with self defense..?”

Darn. I think she would lose trust in him if he “allowed” her to get hurt..like- if she got hurt by a friend he trusted alone with her or..yeah i like angst..
Darby leaned down and whispered coldly “What cameras…?~” this..was a low income convenience store after all they came here every single day..they knew the owner had no cameras
he might if he was overwhelmed.
he smiled. "You'll find out if you killed me."

Darby chuckled, standing up and kicking him in the stomach repeatedly, watching him like a worm
Ah yes..I imagine he needs to go out for an errand and left her…
Darby picked him up by the collar and lifted him in the air, damn they’re strong..
he stared at Darby, panting, keeping his insane, but cool expression
