Sometimes, a rare mutation accurs, causing the khiro to be able to grow or shrink as they please. The only khiro that has survived to their adulthood with this mutation in billions of years is profugus.

It takes about 10 years for offspring to be born. It then takes 1290 years for the khiro to be considered an adult.
