if you cut try to keep it shallow and make sure to bandage/disinfect afterwards But another solution i remembered is if you just have one or two things you use you can try to lose it somewhere a lot of times ppl can avoid s/h if it's simply not an easy access thing you're more likely to use s/h if you have a blade somewhere easy to get to
