Honestly, I don't think CB meant to take Elizabeth. Let me explain, as mentioned in the blueprints of CB in sister location there is a feature where if someone ventures to close to her the claw will come out and grab them, therefore that is why William didn't let Elizabeth go to her. And when she finally did, y'all know what happened :')
