I guess I can

Xonak winced as his fingers scraped against the glass. It certainly wasn't something he'd do in any other situation, but in this one, he had no other choice, not with his job on the line. The only thing keeping him afloat was his duties as the royal alchemist, and recently he'd been charged with a near-Impossible task; finding a way to reverse death. As he clumsily swung his body over into the large building, he cautiously righted himself and uncertainly looked around.

He hesitantly stepped forward as he looked around. Surely, in a large place like this, there'd be preserving chemicals somewhere. As he stepped forward, his leg collided with something, and he staggered forward, knocking several items off of a shelf and causing them to shatter, leaving glass shards all over the floor.

Well, that was the end of him acting stealthy. He hopped on one foot, trying to pry a shard of glass out of the sole of his shoe and tried to look around. His eyes refused to adjust in the dark, and he had the feeling he was being watched. He might have to lie or run very fast soon, but of course, if he hadn't already planned for it he wouldn't have entered in the first place.

"Wait, wait, wait," Xonak held his hands up in a playacting matter. "I just needed a few chemicals. If you help me now, it'll be a rather good investment for later." He paused, worried that he was about to have chemicals poured on him.

"Ah, well, money might be an issue," Xonak rubbed his hands together. "See, I'll only be paid when my job has been done. The chemicals I need aren't expensive, really, it wouldn't be hard to spare one or two..."

"Preservatives," Xonak replied. "They are necessary to preserve a body, a human one. I'm supposed to maigcally figure out a way to revive a dead person, but of course, the responsibility was placed on me. Again."

"Because I have the paperwork to prove that I am, in fact, on royal orders," Xonak shrugged. "I mean, if you truly want to see it, you can. This is about the king's nephew. He recently died, and with a lack of other people viable for the throne, I must do my best to try to revive him."

"There is no medicine to buy," Xonak replied primly. "That's why I'm supposed to figure it out. I've been told to buy the equipment and everything I needed myself, but unfortunately in order to stay alive I had to spend what I had left on sustenance, and other utilities that are necessary for me to live." He paused, wondering if he was even getting through to the other. Just in case, he glanced back at the window to make sure he could escape if need be.

"Well, ah, things like lactic acids, salts, salphites... I need something that can prevent decay." He paused, looking around. "Perhaps you could help me. I'd be more than willing to share most of the pay with you, since it appears you have an abundance of chemicals." He glanced down at all of the glass shards from things he accidentally broke and wince. "Perhaps I could also help clean."

"Ah, that'll work then," Xonak slid his sleeves up and took a sack that he'd brought with out of his pocket. "By any chance, are you a half breed?"

"Interesting," Xonak paused, curious, and perhaps the slightest bit suspicious at the claim. "Having white hair at such a young age isn't usually natural. I myself am a hybrid, and I find it rather interesting that if you truly are human, you look very similar to me."

"Unfortunate," Xonak commented. "What do you do that causes so much stress for you?"

"Hah, that explains a lot," Xonak smirked, crossing his arms. "Well, I hope you don't start getting wrinkley early as well."

it can take place anywhere, my character lives in like a demon city so perhaps somewhere like that i made this as a seperate thing because I was gonna write with just one person but I can probably do more than one

Xonak paused as he was walking to glance at the humming person. He found it rather odd that someone would be doing something like that in public; in the capital, it was rather rare to see someone doing much of anything in public. He considered asking what the humming was about, but had the sudden thought that perhaps it wasn't a very polite thing to do.

"What?" Xonak glanced over in the other direction, considering leaving the area. "Uh, sure, you too?"
