The mond kraken is a distant relative of the vicious mound. Its feeding tentacles have evolved into tails it can swim with and have seperated from is gills. It floats along the seafloor eating mold and sponge using a gaping mouth on its underside. It is fairly stupid compared to most of the other nektonic fauna and is easily preyed upon. It can slow its metabolism down to make itself seem like it isn't alive at all which helps it avoid predation to a certain extent.
