LinkThe reason why Ashe is scared/frightened:
The lab is full of very evil and manipulative creations that were usually sent to attack other villages. So when Switch had trusted her enough and showed her the marking, she couldn’t tell on whether he meant it or had I’ll intentions on the group.
Zach is also from the lab, which is why he has a tracker collar on his neck. When they found Zach, Switch didn’t trust him at first since while he was at the lab, he watched in horror as he saw Zach attack and murder a failed creation. But after a while, Switch understood Zach meant no harm, and was only trying to escape, just like he had done.
