Making species is so much fun but you know what I don’t get People who try and gatekeep species Especially ones that aren’t even that creative or original

Even if the person breaks the “rules” with a species I just.. can’t get behind being so serious about it

If people want to make squid alien OCS that look like mine I wouldn’t care I would probably be happy someone liked the concept I made

Can you believe my face when I heard that protogens were supposed to be a closed species

So other artists should just walk around wanting to have a Protogen oc everyone else was making and having but they just can’t because it’s a “closed species”

I never made ocs that have been from closed species, I rather just make my own but I get the intentions of wanting to make characters from already based species It can be fun to learn lore about someone else’s fictive character race Unless someone is claiming to have made the species or character without inspiration or reference I really can’t force myself to care about closed species

ESPECIALLY if someone tries to paywall it

I love the two bulbous attennie ( I can’t spell it ) that people use in there alien ocs but aliens can be ANYYYYTHING if you think about it so why not make aliens based off of religion, culture ( not noting some discriminatory racist tones like Mexicans being aliens ) animals etc

When people use stars in there alien designs it makes me think of if there were OCS based off of star matter itself like a character made out of a star
