Well- the past could overwhelm someone, too. But my interpretation was he got influxed with ALL the knowledge. He’s smart, so he got all of it. Thing is smart too, but the way Thing used their intelligence before turning left has influenced their knowledge
Thing was a part of the abandoned village D3r found, and was one of the many worshipping K.I.Y (Thing isn’t the author of the book, but still)
By some miracle, Thing found K.I.Y and opened the door, gazing at it and gaining the knowledge Thing now possesses.
What you gain by looking at K.I.Y varies on your personality and behavior <— HEADCANON!!!
Thing was smart, just like D3r. But Thing wasn’t smart about the world’s ”to be”, the only “to be” Thing cared for was their fictional works. Though, Thing was well-versed in the current and past, so Thing got more knowledge on that. However, because of Thing’s lack of attention to the future, they didn’t get much knowledge on that.
TOTALLY! I like to think d3r is like super smart <--- intelligence, like code deciphering (its not a wifies ARG without the hardest codes in history)
