It felt as though her eye was being violently torn out, a trail of pain going down from her face to her leg. It felt as though she was on fire, but even worse. It was as if thousands of claws were being torn into her, Scraping and tearing at her, over and over, more and more painful.. She collapsed from the pain, the world spinning and fading.

Snowkit bounded after Thistlekit, her sister. She sped up, grabbing her sister's fluffy tail. Thistlekit squeaked, "Snowkit! Let go!" She pulled at her sister's grey tail, shaking her head. "Mom! Snowkit won't let my tail go!" Snowkit let her grip go, rolling her eyes. She heard a sigh, and turned around. Her mother, Wildblossom, was staring at them. "Play nice, you two," The calico meowed, her voice gentle. Snowkit flicked an ear, and marched over to Blackkit.

The much larger tom-kit was asleep. As usual! Snowkit thought, Maybe I should wake him up.. She pounced on her brother, meowing, "Wake up, sleepy-head!" Blackkit leaped, sending Snowkit flying off. He growled, glaring at her, his hackles raised. "Let me sleep!" Snowkit frowned mewing, "Hmph! You never play with any of us!" Just as she said that, Bubblekit and Thistlekit came bounding up to her. "Snowkit!" Thistlekit whispered. "What?" She replied. "I heard Blackfur and Briarstar talking about a fox!" "What about it?" "Do you think we could go out of the camp and find it? Momma and the clan would be so proud if we beat it!"

Before Snowkit could answer, Blackkit interupted. "That sounds fun, think I could come along?" "Of course!" "Let's go!" Bubblekit mewed. "But, we have to wait until no one is watching." "Momma is eating fresh-kill, and no one seems to be paying attention." Thistlekit squeaked. "So, let's sneak out now!" Snowkit meowed. "No, no! We have to find a secret way.." Blackkit mumbled. They glanced around, trying to find a way. "I guess we'll have to explore." "Duh!" Blackkit said, rolling his eyes.

They searched and searched, checking every nook and corner, eventually finding a small tunnel behind the Warrior's den. They cautiously creeped into it. They walked, eventually being led out of the hollow. "We're out!" Snowkit meowed. "Now, how do we find the fox?" "I guess we just look for it." Blackkit responded.
