Your friends are wrong. I don't mean to butt in, but I want to say something. I sort of understad why they might not want you to use that word. It has an ableist origin, and a lot of people find it offensive. I know you didn't mean it that way, but know that some people will be upset if you use it. However, calling you names and kicking you out is wrong. They should have explained why they felt uncomforatabe using that word, and I'm sure you would understand, and not use it. As someone with autsism and ADHD,I don't think you are a bad person for saying it, just that you made a joke without thinking. In the future, try to not use that word as a joke, and find friends who will tell you why you are wrong when you are wrong, and not attack and insult you.
