The bell rang, and Taliesin and Beowulf squared off in the wrestling ring. Beowulf charged first, his powerful frame crashing toward Taliesin, but the bard was quick—dodging and slipping behind him to lock him in a tight hold.
"You don’t always have to fight alone," Taliesin murmured, their bodies pressed close.
For a brief moment, Beowulf hesitated, something raw in his gaze. Then, without warning, he spun around and pulled Taliesin into a kiss—intense, desperate, and full of heat.
They broke apart, breathing hard. Beowulf's voice was rough. "Maybe not."
Taliesin grinned. "Guess we make a good team."
Beowulf and Taliesin lay back on the hood of a car, the night sky stretched out above them. The stars glittered like distant promises.
“Does it ever feel like you’re just... *stuck*?” Beowulf asked quietly, eyes tracing constellations.
Taliesin was silent for a long moment, his breath steady. “Yeah. But the stars remind me that there’s more, even when we don’t see it.”
Beowulf shifted, feeling the weight of something unspoken hanging between them. “I’ve been running for too long.”
Taliesin turned his head, his gaze meeting Beowulf’s. “Then stop.”
Before Beowulf could respond, Taliesin’s lips brushed against his, soft and deliberate. For a brief second, the world felt still, the weight of everything else gone.
When they pulled back, Beowulf’s voice was hoarse. “You’re dangerous.”
Taliesin smirked. “I know.”
