disclaimer: I love my parents and they are great people. But they don’t seem to know much about subconscious decisions. Ok so, a lot of the time, my parents (mostly my mom) will be absolutely OBSESSED with trying to get me to conform. I have a ton of difficulty with school, and earlier today I was doing homework with my mom and I was being quite stubborn I will admit, but so was she. I was dead set on being able to handle all of this school bullshit by myself, and she was dead set on making sure she could always know what was going on with school and making sure I was working enough even if I would be burnt out I would still have to SoLdiEr ThRoUgH tHe ExHaUsTiOn. She would just threaten to take things away if I didn’t stay in the kitchen with her and do homework. So my conclusion was that she (even though she doesn’t mean to) is trying to take away my autonomy and control over myself by trapping me in a room until I do what she needs me to do instead of trusting me with my own issues and giving me help
