LinkCute! And Sad!
As morning came, it seemed that Mr. Jones slept longer then he should, the animals were getting hungrier than ever.
Snowball crawled out of his nest and walked out checking the outside for Jones, but he didn't see anything of him.
He hurried over to the food shack and asked the animals to bust it open, and they did.
As soon as they broke the door, the animals dug into the food, starving. Snowball rushed back to check on Crystal, she shivered half asleep, starving.
"come on Chris... lets get you to the food shack..." Crystal got up stabling herself, her ribs showed, she lashed her tail.
Snowball hurried to her side and helped her walk to the food shack, she clawed open the cat food and was shoved aside by the black cat, she hissed and Crystal backed away. Snowball grabbed a bowl into his mouth and growled slightly at the black cat he scooped some in the bowl and carried it and climbed on top of a hay bail and set it down gently cooing to Crystal to come to him.
She tried to climb the hay bail, but she was so malnourished that she was too weak. He bent over the edge and grabbed her and grabbed her scruff in between his jaws, he started to lift but it hurt Crystal, her adult weight affected the ability to lift her up as an adult.
He quickly lifted her up, it hurt her and as soon as he let go he groomed the back of her neck apologizing rapidly.
She went for the food, she didn't care about the pain much, she just wanted to eat.
All of a sudden Jones came in, whip in hand, he grew so very angry seeing all of the animals eating the food. He raised his whip and lashed it out at them.
The animals grew angry, Snowball grew protective of his little Chris and stood on top of her protecting her from the whip, it lashed his back and he growled slightly, Crystal's eyes widened and she cried, "S-Snowball!" He quickly licked her on top of her head letting her know that he was okay.
The farm animals chased Jones out, and went back to eating. Crystal examined Snowball and seen a whip mark on his back. "Snowball w-will you lie down?" Snowball looked down at her and laid down, she then licked the blood off, Snowball quietly relaxed with her gentle tongue.
She finished cleaning the wound and he turned and nuzzled her.
"thank you my love..." She purred and snuggled at his belly, and continued eating her food
