I was working in the kitchen with my friend, where we volunteer with kids. he was doing dishes, I was making food. about 5-6 or so kids came in, they were all around 6-10, and started asking him questions about his eyes. this quickly escalated, to the point where these kids were screaming at him for simply being asian. they all started chanting "made in china" at him, and I froze. I didn't know what to do. he didn't say anything, just tried to ignore them, and I thought I shouldn't say anything at first. but then they started yelling, chanting, and being extraordinarily racist. then I told them to leave, escorting them out of the kitchen. the guy didn't say anything to me, so I guess he didn't want to talk about it, but it's made me very upset with myself for not knowing what to do. I didn't want to white-savior the situation, but I didn't want to let it go either??

how do I deal with such things, without white-savoring the situation or accidentally speaking over POC/AAPI???
