DONT SHADE WITH BLACK/GREY, IT MAKES THE DRAWING LOOK DULL AND DIRTY AND STUFF UNLESS WHATS WHAT YOU'RE GOING FOR IDK
USE REDS AND BLUES AND PURPLES, I LIKE USING PINKY REDS AND PURPLES (WARM TONES) AND BLUES SOMETIMES FOR COOLER TONES

Remember how colors affect an image
Blue shading could reflect a sadder or more sinister tone
Red could reflect love or happiness
Yellow (yes, you can shade with dark yellow) reflects energy
etc.

I use highlighters not paint rollers for my art ;( my art seems kinda dull or 100% dull
