Seven stared down at his book, it was some tale about a princess and her knight. he found it cheesy and cliche but it was something to busy his mind, keep him from sleeping.
he looked up and out the door, checking for a customer or anything else. once he saw nothing he looked back down at his book.
a short girl with bright pink hair and a wooden leg suddenly appears in front of the desk without making a sound... not even the bell at the door sounded.
he looked up again and jumped out of shock.
"oh- shit..what the hell."
he stepped back and looked her up and down.
"you need something?"
the girl made a squeak out of shock when he jumped.
she said something in sign as she walks back up to the counter.
he stared at her for a moment then repeated himself.
"do you need help? if you do, sign slower i don't understand quick hands."
she jolted a little bit and looked down in embarrassment and signed again.
("Do you sell any flame root here?")
Seven tilted his head a bit.
"is..that some type of drink? we have 'Fireball'"
he pointed to the alcoholic drink and righted his head. "but ill be honest you look to young to drink so i hope thats not what you're after."
she signed slower so he could understand
("fire-ball, so yes that is what I'm looking for")
she gave a light smile as she nods at his statement
"hm..okay..can i see some identification? im not selling to a minor..i like my job."
he leaned over the counter and waited.
she gave a light chuckle as she handed him a ID confirming she was indeed 22 years of age
he sighed and got up, walking over to the drinks and getting for her then bringing it over and ringing it up.
"14$."
(shes only a few inches taller than Seven, and he does look his age.)
she handed him a 20$ bill and retrieves her ID from the counter and waits
he gave her back six and put the bottle in a paper bag for her.
"anything else i can help you with today?"
he pause then looked out the door then back at her.
"i mean night."
she shook her head no and bowed to him signing: ("thanks")
and as she was heading to the door she paused.
He was turned, grabbing a pill bottle and emptying its contents into his hand then gulping them down.
Seven looked back at the door and stared at her a bit confused but otherwise uncaring.
she clenched her fist and walked out the door and after a few seconds, a group of guys surrounded her and grabbed the bag of drinks and six dollars that was left of her payment as she looked at the ground still clenching her fist.
he tilted his head the walked out from behind the counter and to the door, watching to make sure shes okay.
he didn't feel like calling the ambulance..again.
she could be seen trying to sign something but one of the guys shouted:
"nobody understands you ya freak! so do us a favor and quit being annoying." the bigger guy opened the drink from the bag and begins chugging the drink.
the other shorter guy wraps his arm around the girl and starts playing with her hair and is talking to soft to be heard from inside the store.
he sighed and walked out. he knew what it was like to be treated like this. it happens every day.
"Excuse me, the owners don't like people just standing in the parking lot, please leave or buy something."
he gave a harsh glare to the boys, especially the one touching the girl. he was about 50% sure she didn't want him touching her.
the girl turned around with a tear rolling down her face and tried walking toward him and was grabbed by the bigger man he held her under his arm and he was grabbing her chest.
the man: "alright, we will leave! C'mon boys"
"Cool. but she stays..or im calling the cops."
Seven pulled out his phone, showing them he wasn't kidding.
the big guy pulled out a gun and aimed it at the boy
"Oh, will ya now! the girls coming with us and you're going to drop that phone!"
he took the gun and whipped the girl in the eye and aimed it back at him.
he sighed like he was bored.
he mumbled to himself then called the cops.
"Hi, i have some twink pointing a gun at me and assaulting a women." he paused. "the gas station."
"you little SHIT!" he put up the gun and immediately was bitten in the hand by the girl.
the man dropped the gun and she quickly tackled the boy through the store's window and was grazed by a bullet shot by the other guys and pulled the boy behind some shelves.
"whoa. i wonder if that bite is gonna get infected."
after the commotion the police arrived quickly. knowing the town nutcase wasn't hallucinating and someone was actually in danger.
the girl huffs and puffs and keep wiping the blood where the guy hit her with the handle of the pistol
Seven looked at her then held his hand out.
"there's a medkit inside, might help with that."
she tilted her head in confusion and pointed at a hole in her shoulder that begins to slowly turn her torn clothing around the hole red.
the girl touched the same spot on her back and signed that the bullet is still in her shoulder as the red continues to spread down her chest.
he backed away, putting his hands to his chest. "should i call someone?"
as the cops pulled away with the criminals in cuffs it started to pour rain outside.
she shook her head with a weak smile on her face and began to walk out ifto the rain.
a thud could be heard outside as the girl collapsed into a puddle of water and the puddle slowly started turning red.
He made an annoyed growl and walked back outside and to her in the puddle before picking her up and dragging her into the building and propping her up in a booth the returned behind the counter.
the girl tried to stand up again and wobbles her way to the back room.
there ways a few minutes of rustling from the room then silence.
