because if you add 1 to 3 it equals 4 and if you add the 3 ones left it equals 7 which is the equasion backwards but also the reasoning. then heres another example: so you have 3 apples, you grow 2 more apples, then you have 5 apples. then you grow 2 MORE apples, you add the 2 new apples you grown to the 5 other apples, which equals 7.
