thinking about how cossus goes through his entire life with nothing. He loses his entire family and then thinks he has something, he goes from a man with nothing to someone with something worth fighting for and it's ripped from him in an instant. he doesnt get a goodbye from tifu, he doesnt get a final i love you, he gets nothing. all he gets as tifu is laying on the ground, bleeding to death, is the sheikah symbol painted on his forehead. not the yiga one, the reversed eye, but the proper symbol of his people. he has nothing left at all, and still, at the end of their life, tifu is teaching him humility. Cossus' story, it's always been about teaching him to be human and humble and kind without reward. so he spends the rest of his life with nothing, giving everything he has back to the world and teaching his daughter the ways of the people who he lost to the yiga clan. cossus gets nothing so that kanya can have something and it makes me cry every single time i think about it
