Artemis was seven after the Greek war, Cronus (Hades' Father / nemesis) was planning on starting another war, so Hades decided to offer Heimdallr a load of runes (God currency) in exchange for his fathers assassination. Heimdallr turned it down, as he had to guard Asgard and look after his family. Hades was pissed, so he got back at him by kidnapping Frida (Heimdallr's wife) the next day, the rest of the family was knocked unconscious and taken to a dungeon where Artemis saw Frida get tortured infront of her eyes.

Artemis tried to break from the guards hold, but as soon as she was released she was already dead. Artemis absolutely HATED Hades for that. Heimdallr was taken for execution next then Artemis and Apollo (Artemis' older brother) were sent to seperate orphanages/refugee camps.

The one that Artemis was sent had Aphrodite as the leader of the camp. Artemis disliked her because she something against her mom, Aphrodite always scolded her when she stole some food, but that was because she wasn't fed regularly. Sometimes she would even get injured by her really badly.

at the age of 14 Artemis planned an escape and executed it successfully, she had a bag full of food and a durable bow and arrow made by one of the nice old men from the camp. She found an abandoned cottage and decided to squat in for a while.

The unusual thing was the fireplace was lit up, with boiling fresh water. The door creaked open, and Artemis shot an arrow on the door near the mans fingers. He scolded her and told her to buzz off out of his property.

She begged him if she could stay, until he gave in. They had dinner together and the man started talking about his past with losing his wife, daughter and son to a small offer. Artemis heard something like that before.. and of course, she found out the man was her father Heimdallr.
