Ayyy you seem pretty cool :) I've been teaching myself Japanese since January, and while I've barely scratched the surface of the abyss that is the Japanese language, I can say that I've found a few sites to be really helpful: tofugu.com is awesome, especially their hiragana guide (https://www.tofugu.com/japanese/learn-hiragana/) and their katakana guide (https://www.tofugu.com/japanese/learn-katakana/) wanikani.com is fantastic for learning kanji, and while it makes you pay to keep learning after you reach level three, it is totally worth it. It's the best site you'll find. I tried duolingo for a few months before realizing I wasn't learning anything and quit. Hopefully that stuff helps get you started :D
