I stood in the darkness, staring at the stains on my hands. Okay, I thought. I just did that. I’d seen someone, so I’d attacked. Now, however, I regretted that. Who I’d thought was an enemy wasn’t. Just some poor stranger who’d ended up here, too. I stared down at them, before walking off. They were fine, I thought. I hadn’t hit him too hard. Something felt off, but things always felt off to me. You see, I’m supposed to be dead. What’s the year- 2020? Yeah. I was a teenager in like, 1940. I’m actually like 97. I died when I was 17. I’m suddenly alive. I have no idea why, I just.. woke up here. That’s not the point, though. Wherever I was, I needed to get out. Fast. Although, I felt bad leaving the guy there.. canine. That was the first thing I noticed. He also had wings, curly red hair and a floaty crown thing floating above his head. I poked the crown. He flinched. Okay, I thought. Last I checked, non-humans were dangerous. This guy looked nice and not much of a fighter, though. I looked at my hands again. I was missing my ring finger on my right hand. I didn’t remember what had happened, but it looked like it had been cut off. Not new at all. Probably a result of it being amputated when I was a baby or something. I sat next to the stranger for a while. Eventually, his eyes snapped open and he shrieked when I saw me. I also screamed. He summed a scythe and I picked up the nearest object I could, a tree branch. “I don’t know who you are, but you’d better stay away from me!” He shouted. “I’m sorry for tackling you, sir, I thought-“ He slashed his scythe at me and I shrieked at the top of my lungs, rolling out of the way. Well, I guess he’s not a talker. e
