LinkThe reason the plot is about sinners from hell is so Vivziepop can show them as cute, funny and sexy. This is the unarguably the purpose of the show. (I'm referring to the self evident genre and plot before someone asks "how do you know her intentions?") This is what a comedy show about horrific sins intrinsically is.
A mature story uses heavy themes for heavy purposes while immature stories use heavy themes lightly. Some comedies use this to their advantage, but this is only successful when writers are aware of the weight of the topics in actuality. Being able to manipulate reality is the sign of a good writer. Not understanding reality is the sign of a bad writer. It's obvious when topics are thrown in senselessly because the author has poor judgment about the seriousness of certain things in real life. The writing is not in control of itself, and therefore not just a "style" which is about knowing the rules before breaking them.

LinkApparently the word cringey is taboo these days. There are better ways to argue than using adjectives. However, I can clearly see how the word came into popularity when you think of what people who use it are trying to express: the misjudgment (usually out of naivety) of the weight of certain topics followed by the placement of them into structures that don't support them at all, often to the degree it's humiliating to those who do understand them.
This is why people call sobbing, bloody, angsty rainbow pony OCs cringey. While I don't condone harassing individual artists, I agree the disconnection between a writer's perceived reality and actual reality is a fair way to judge the quality of an idea. In short, it's about their CONTROL over reality (at least if your aim is for reasonable people to enjoy your work). Otherwise you'll only attract edgy, impressionable teens. Objective quality is real.

LinkHazbin Hotel is ignorant and sick and it's morally wrong portray perverts and sins as cute, sexy or funny to impressionable young adults and teens. (Or anyone no matter how old they are). With great power comes great responsibility. Hazbin Hotel is a tragic abuse of talent.

and don't give me any of that "BUT THERE'S A GOOD PART OF FANBASE" crap. I'm aware of all the good people in there but that doesn't mean I like the stupid thing.
