So when you're making rigs, it has to be very easy to use. Also you have to think about anatomy in a sense (mostly think about where the joints are and how the body moves in general) so lets say you're rigging legs right? you first split the legs in 3 (upper leg, lower leg, and ankle) then you add feet! some thing applies to arms! Ill send you a quick example of rigs!

so in this case, the arm seems stiff and looks disconnected. So to fix this, you rotate the arm by the shoulder to make it look like its connected! These are called IK rigs but that's more advance stuff! You could also apply this stuff to 3D rigging!
