In the army au things are completely different,, Kai and Zayn have a much much much different relationship in the mafia au, because well, trauma regarding him.. slaughtering her dad under the possession of Micah. But yeah anyways- not sad hours!! Happy!! Kai and Zayn originally, genuinely despised each other. Every single interaction was a fight, even when their fathers were meeting to discuss peace treaties- It was pretty much expected for them to fight everytime they saw one another,, so yeah,, It was only after Daren died in a mechanical accident that Kai began straightening up, because well.. she ruled the SSC now,, and she was 19(in this au-). Now she was required to present herself decently, and as the leader of the organization.. Kai was also exceptionally reckless and threatening,, to the point shed let herself get captured so she would be able to speak with Alec, when he refused to see her,, and he would always release her because she threatened nuclear consequences because they pinpointed-

Their base,, which also ultimately led to the Ichor Army moving around.. multiple times.. before moving closer to the SSC which was a relatively smart decision considering that if Kai would drop a nuke, it’d destroy her camp as well. But yeah, anyways Ivan began to be more prominent in the picture, both Kai and Zayn had seen him before, and they both despised him, he brought both of their fathers so much trouble- To put it shortly, Ivan started doing really terrible shit. Tormenting their soldiers, tormenting civilians that he had conquered, slaughtering people in the street, doing disgusting things to women and children, doing medical experiments on live specimens, etc etc i could list even more,, but yeah, anyways Alec saw impending doom and took his own life, he’d rather take his own life than let Ivan take it. So yeah, Zayn was distraught that his dad just died and he would be taking on an entire army to himself.. anyways, leaders of various rebellions reached out and they all formed a meeting to

Make what they called “the treaty of the north” which basically agreed that they’d all work together to destroy Ivan- This is where Kai and Zayn began to get closer, because under their agreements, they couldn’t inflict harm onto one another- at least during this war they had called forth. They actually had to communicate and work together,, Anyways at first, Kai would abuse this agreement,, literally harassing Zayn and just scorning him, which enraged him Until one night, the two got into an all out brawl at the lake,, which ended with Zayn almost.. suffocating her after she had practically beat his face in. This fight was sorta the turning point because they began to actually.. communicate. Like Kai spoke about how she felt after her fathers death, talking about the stresses,, and Zayn expressed that he had thought the same thing, how they had both unfairly been shoved into these positions of extreme power.. But yeah, that night, they let each other go back to their camps with no other issues.
