I'd say experiment but don't forcfully trap yourself into one way of drawing, it may hinder your progression. It's okay to take inspiration too and pinterest is the best place to look.

Oh and imagine what energy you're going for in a drawing, if it's a cold and lonely one use a cooler hue for shading like blue, if happier then use a warmer colour.
