LinkWhile watching gameplay of Garten of Banban, I have one question that rises above the others - "why is the opila bird so damn scary?" its a crappy model of a bird that follows you around, so why does it creep me out? So I'm answering that question today. The first reason may honestly be the only for some, being that its eyes are at the front of its head. Looking at pictures of birds you'll notice their eyes are on the sides of their heads, which can be an identifier for prey animals. think deer, rabbits, mice, horses etc. However, front facing eyes, like dogs and cats, are for predator mammals. The Opila bird not only has the uncanny, creepy eyes that aren't exactly right, but they're in a position that immediately says DANGER. This bird is a predator and you are its prey.
