in 1914 during ww1, the british and germans were fighting.
they fought for months, maybe a year i cant remember.
but on christmas day, the british heard something from the german trench.
they were caroling.
they figured since it was christmas day, they would stop fighting.
they were nice to each other, drank together, played games, and exchanged gifts.
sorry i just simply love this story and i just wanted to share it
I heard of this before!
When we were doing a christmas program at my school we sang 1 verse of silent night in german and 2 verses of silent night in english, and we watched a video of the story, it was so wholesome <333
I wish stuff like this happened nowadays. Putting off the chaos and conflict to sing some carols.
