The forest had an unsettling air about it, Icarus's stomach knotted even more. They weren't sure if they'd be able to stomach any more blood, but knew that they'd have to try or risk hurting someone, so they trudged onwards.
She waited in the willows, stalking out at the field in front of her, the fog gently swaying in the breeze. She would watch as the stars and moon lit up against the small light of the fireflies below.
They brushed their hand against a nearby tree trunk and took a deep breath, listening. The breeze whistled through the leaves, leaves crunched beneath a mouse's feet (prey that much too small for Icarus), breaths of a sleeping rabbit. Nothing that really caught their attention. The a small doe tore through the underbrush. Ice pounced, tackling the fawn and tearing out its throat with their teeth. Blood splattered across their face and collar. Reluctantly, they drank.
