I forgot where we were driving home from, but I was doing that usual thing kids do when they're bored in a vehicle and I looked out my window. I saw buildings, street lights, trees, then the dark silhouette of a large flying critter shaped like a bird, but not really a bird. It had visible legs, smooth wings, a long face and a barely distinguishable crest. I never told anybody until years later when my family was talking about things that freaked them out in South Carolina, and I mentioned this. They say it's a goose, or maybe a gull (We had those even far inland), but I know a bird when I see one.

I'm not making this up, but it might be a good base for a funny "prehistoric horror" internet story, kind of like TTC.
