She forced herself to keep her smile, not fond with the greeting. Regardless, she took it all with that forced smile she perfected over the years. "Mary. And you two?"

Her eyes darted over to James, noticing the noise right away. "Is your arm alright, young sir? It looked like you hurt yourself by touching it just now."

Her lips pursed and her gaze narrowed. "I'm no psychiatrist, but your tone sounds wary. You're obviously not fine. I'm also no doctor, but I can always try and help if you show me the wound and tell me how you got it." She took a small step closer to him.

She glanced down at him, studying his expression before smiling again, fake innocence lining her lips. "I see what's going on here now...Yea..." She trailed off, giving Derek a brief, chilling gaze before backing up again. "I see /exactly/ what's going on here."

"Of course he did. Is that what you tell everyone, sir- Well, I don't think you've really /earned/ the title sir if you do shit like that." She gritted her teeth through her smile, spinning the pen in between her fingers.

Her smile instantly dropped to a cold stare, her eye twitching. Uh-huh. Deserves it, huh? What makes you think your own child deserves to be hurt? I'd love for you to enlighten me with your logic."

"I've met people who've killed and you're more scum than they are." She gripped onto the pen.

"I know enough about you to know you're a shit human being. You're face is looking pretty punchable, might I add." She sneered back up at him, her gaze narrowing.

She tensed at the nickname, setting something off in her. She lifted the pen quickly and stabbed it into his cheek forcefully, a bit of the ink falling from the tip of the pen.

She grit her teeth, still trying to push against his arm and further the pen's journey into the side of his cheek. She couldn't make it very far, though, since she wasn't the strongest physically.

She stumbled back with a small yelp, rubbing her arm to try and ease the sting of it.

She let out an amused scoff. "Am I now? You've got some nerve calling me a ***** after all you've probably done to this boy."

"It's more than my business if you're beating him. Anyone ever tell you beating people is wrong?" She twirled the pen in between her fingers again, some stray ink and blood flying.

"IT'S NOT PARENTING ADVICE ITS COMMON ****ING SENSE!" Her voice raised, letting out a frustrated growl. "It's been years since I've met someone so damn stupid, lord..."

"You're teaching fear, dumbass. I don't have time to argue with someone so content with being cruel to people." She huffed, walking over to James with a small, caring smile. "Do you want your arm treated at all? I have a first aid kit in my car if you need.-"

Her eyes widened, doing the only thing her body told her was right and slapping him full force in the face. "DO YOU LEGITIMATELY HAVE SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR BRAIN?! SOME ****ING NERVE YOU HAVE TO DO THAT TO HIM!"

"You ever wonder what it's like to lose an eye?" She gave him a cold glare, flipping the pen around in her hand before gripping it tightly.

"What? Are you going to hit me too? I'd like to see you ****ing try, limp dick." She sneered up at him.

She let a brief, satisfactory smirk slip by from his reaction, raising the pen near his face. "Your confidence is wavering, Derek. Where'd all your spunk and attitude go? Hm?"

"**** off, scum. There's no place good for people who do shit like you do in this world." She sneered at him one last time, lowering the pen and roughly bumping his shoulder, walking over to James. Her expression softened and she smiled. "Sorry about that. What was I saying again..?"

"Ah! Right, right...I have a first aid kit in my car. Would you like me to take you there so we can take care of whatever wounds you may have?"

"That's wonderful. You can follow me and I'll take you there. Don't worry about anything else." She gave him a kind smile and started walking.

"Don't mention it. I can't bear people like your father. Do you stay with him or do you have your own place?" She looked up at him.

"Hmm...A shame. Any other relatives you can go to?" She arrived at the jet black sports car, walking over to the front seat and taking out a bright red first aid kit.

"Dang..I'd offer you to stay with me but I'm only visiting this country." She opened it, taking out a mini thermos that held ice in it, pouring some out into a little baggie.

She frowned slightly. "I hope sooner rather than later. You need to get away from him as soon as you can." She closed up the baggie and handed it to him. "Put that on any bruise you have and make sure to apply pressure or else it won't work."

"No problem. Do you think there's any way you could take him to court on this matter?"

She blinked, her broes furrowing. "Not about guts, kid. It's about what's right and it's literally a law that you can't beat children."
