Warm, dawn light seeped through the many curves and ridges of the tall and detailed buildings in the Strawberry kingdom. The soft glow of light was enough to gently wake the cookies within. They had work to do. to make the kingdom last for eternity. Every cookie had expectations, and they were to be followed. Right now you are sitting in the throne room. The crown you wore was radiant. detailed with only the most precious gemstones, shimmering with elegance and made every cookie who stood before you only treat you with the most profound respect. You dragged a finger over the bumps and curves, savoring the feel under your fingertips. What would happen if you lost this magnificent kingdom? “Your majesty?” One of the guards barked outside your door . Oh, what is it now? “What is it? Is it worth my time?” You murmured, your barely audible outside the door. “Yes! Please come see this!” You huffed, oh what could this mere guard have that was so interesting? You never bothered to get to know him. But what did it matter? He was usually a sourpuss, too cranky for your taste. What was his name anyway…? You huffed, walking towards the door, the soft clank of your heels echoing off the walls. But you stop, staring for the thousandth time in the picture of your dead husband. His name is still echoing in your mind, consuming your thoughts like sticky honey, Strawberry Milk Cookie. Your fingertips brush over the rough glass. You wished he was here just for at least a while longer. Just- “Your majesty?” Damn it. You almost forgot. How could you forget? Drowning in your own sorrow to remember your duty as queen. Who will be the new king? It was so recent, so recent when the courageous hero crumbled to nothing but mere crumbs. But, you still need to know what this guard could possibly want. Well first of all, how did a cat sneak in? “Well, what's the meaning of this?” you command, your voice is as sharp as thorns piercing dough, the kind of tone that makes it hard to ignore. “Well you see, there's a cat but….” he trailed off. This is weird. He is never easily scared. Such a strong cookie but frightened by a cat? What nonsense. A soft meow sliced through the silence. The feline was inside of a small light blue gift box, trying to paw the top of the box off its head. You had to admit- it was a rather adorable gesture. The cat slammed its paw one last time and the top tumbled to the ground, the body that climbed out was slender and every move was precise, as if the cat had been waiting for this exact moment. The feline sat down and stared at you, its piercing eyes never leaving yours. The cat's left eye was a vibrant cyan and the other was cerulean. There was something peculiar about this cat, but it was hard to pin down. “Oh? So THIS is what you were scared of? Pfff- HAHAHAHAHHAHA-”
